Picked up bees from Nature’s Nectar in Stillwater. The installation was smooth. A number of bees remained in the transport package which we brought home and kept in the condo for 2 days until we returned to the hive.
We were accompanied by Brian Lesteberg who filmed the process.
The hive bodies had been prepared the week prior by staining and sealing in a marine grade varnish. Bob also made an aluminum stand which sits about 4” from the ground. The rear has decorative “spires” inspired by local architecture. I would like to do a more elaborate cover and base in the future, even an entry.
This is a view from the rooftop of our City Workers' home.
