PULLING FRAMES / September 2011

Last week 30 beautiful frames of honey were pulled from the hive and set aside to extract. We expect to harvest about 75 pounds of the golden nectar. The bees retain about 100 pounds for themselves to consume during the winter. There were still lots of bees in the colony. Our initial sampling of the honey was very mild with a cherry aftertaste. Unique!
